Create Your Sustainable Legacy!
It's time to radically change your thinking...
about what it means to invest
What does that mean? It means that you earn competitive performance while having a positive impact on the world around us. It means that you will be painlessly "giving back" while investing for the future. (Read more below.) It means that you will know more about your investments than a line on a statement. You will be making conscious financial decisions to protect and grow wealth!
Boardwalk Capital specializes in sustainable and responsible investing, helping you achieve your financial goals while building your Sustainable Legacy. And we are a newly Certified Benefit Corporation (or B Corp) which means that, as a company, we will balance profit with social impact, and will devote at least 20% of profits to social impact investments or charitable endeavors.
We start by challenging conventional thinking.
Investors often believe that they must choose between profit and impact -- that they must ignore environmental and human factors in order to earn competitive returns. But numerous research studies prove the opposite: Companies who care about the impact of their activities are better long term investments than those who do not.

- Additionally, as a Certified Benefit Corp, Boardwalk Capital will donate 20% of profits to charitable enterprises and other impact investments. And we'll keep doing this for as long as you are a client.
You will be connected with your investments and be proud of what you own.

To Divest, or Not to Divest... That is the (new) question.
May 14, 2013
Investors are increasingly asking that question. You know the one that should be never raised at cocktail parties:
"Should I invest in companies that I know are wrecking the planet?"
In simpler times, "serious investors" didn't worry with the social aspects of investing in tobacco or alcohol or defense contractors. Our pragmatism stated that legal products were acceptable investments in a free society.
That was prior to our knowledge of climate science... before the flooding of Pacific islands and Alaskan coastal towns... and well in advance of breaching 400ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere -- a level not seen in the totality of...

Finally... A 401k Plan with Social Impact Investments
May 14, 2013
401k plans are the yeomen of the investment world -- doing hard work behind the scenes with little fanfare or notice. In the best of circumstances, 401k's are practically invisible, tax-deferred and dull wealth builders. Of course, in some cases, these workhorses are neglected, improperly allocated or are poorly utilized... Their potential is wasted as they work in silence.
Out of sight, out of mind... until someone decided to look under the hood...
Plan participants have begun to scrutinize the holdings of their 401k mutual funds. Finding them "loaded to the gills" with the likes of BP, Halliburton, Wal-Mart and Exxon-Mobil, they are...

Global sustainability research firm RobecoSAM named its 2013 Sector Leaders from among more than 2000 candidates worldwide. Alcoa Inc. -- Aluminum Baxter International -- Medical Products Herman Miller -- Furnishings Molson Coors Brewing -- Beverages Sonoco Products -- Packaging UnitedHealth Group -- Healthcare Waste Management -- Waste DisposalStill, more than a dozen US firms showed the most significant progress in their sector, suggesting...
